Objectives:

YCAP recognises the need for a comprehensive approach to Disaster Risk Reduction that takes into account both the capacity of local authorities to manage hazards and risks and respond to disasters while also consider the communities own ability to decrease the risk of disasters by addressing the root causes of vulnerability to hazards. Therefore YCAP apply a two-tiered approach whereby we attempt to maximize the efforts of local authorities’ disaster planning and preparedness as well as to work at the community level to strengthen the capacity of local communities to cope with the impacts of shocks and disasters.
